The trip home to Texas, July 2010. To bring the car home, I borrowed an Ford F150 truck and a 16′ enclosed trailer from my employer. I designed and built a frame made of 2″ x 4″ boards to keep the car from drifting around the trailer. It consisted of fixed side rails down the length of the trailer and two fixed cross rails rails at the front end. I had three other cross rails ready so that once the car was pushed up in the trailer, I could fasten them to the side rails and have a cross rail both in front and back of each pair of wheels. This would keep the car from moving forward and backward and the side rails would keep the car away from the side walls of the trailer. I did push the car into the trailer engine first so that the weight would be on the tongue of the trailer. When I arrived in Fargo to pick the car up, the previous owner had the car on his trailer and pulled it out to an ally behind his house. He pushed it off of his trailer and we backed it into my trailer. I secured the cross rails and we started the 2-day drive back.
